Actually, first we were diverted to Rio de Janeiro but they didn't let us off the plane. We couldn't land in Sao Paulo because of the fog. Apparently because of the landscape, around March, the fog around the Sao Paulo airport (GRU) is insane and they can't land before 10am. So I sat on the plane in Rio for 4 hours before they refueled and took us back to Sao Paulo. But by this time, I had missed my scheduled flights to get me to Porto Seguro. So I had to reschedule for a later flight. Funny thing was, I was on the later flight but I beat my coworker, who was already in Sao Paulo and made our original flight, to Porto Seguro. He had a connection in Salvador which was delayed.
