So, I get offered the job.  The pay and benefits are outstanding and the work is intersting.  So of course I accept.  The company pays for a 5-day house-hunting trip for Jacqui and me.
We've both moved around a lot during college and she moved around with her parents like a mongolian nomad before college; so we know we want to buy a house, no more renting and moving every year.  So we do our research and make a list of about 40 houses that we want to look at.  We've got a price range and a size in mind. We've got to be able to move in before August so I can start work.  And one of our biggest concerns is how much land comes with the house.  At this point, I've got 1 car, 2 trucks, and 1 car trailer, and Jacqui has a car too.

So when we get up to Glens Falls, we drive around by ourselves without the real estate agent and check to see if there is space for all of the vehicles.  This narrowed down our list to about 9 houses.  So we went to see these 9 houses with the real estate agent and she showed us a couple of extra ones that we hadn't found in our search.  Only one fit the bill in every way though.

The price was good, it had enough room, and it was a newly built house so there was no worry about how fast someone could move out.  We made an offer that was accepted before we left and we got all of our legal stuff taken care of.  We were set to close on the house July 14th, two weeks after we made the offer.

Getting everything up to Glens Falls is a little bit more of a challenge.  All through college I had accumulated furniture and other stuff that would be useful in a new house.  And most all of Jacqui's stuff and some of mine was out in California where her parents were living at the time.  The company would pay for moving costs but we had to finagle how they would pay for moving stuff from two locations, Huntville, AL, and Irvine, CA.  We finally figured it out so that I would bring all of my stuff in a Budget truck that was towing one of my trucks. And my brother Derek would drive my other truck, towing the car trailer with the Mazda on it.  We stopped in Owenton, KY on the way up to pick up some stuff from her parents house. I got a flat tire on the Budget trailer right outside of Bowling Green, so I sent Jacqui and Derek to her parent's house while I waited on the side of I-65.

It took us a total of 2 days to get from Huntsville to Glens Falls with our little caravan.  And then Jacqui's stuff showed up 2 weeks later on a moving truck.

On July 17th, I started my "adult" life
