We got up really early in the morning to try to go and buy the new suitcase because of the Paris baggage handlers.  We went out at about 8am so that we'd have a chance to go see the Changing of the Guard at 11:30.

BUT...none of the stores opened up until after 10am.  So we had to occupy ourselves walking around, going for tea and having some fun in the mall until then.  And then it took us almost an hour at the different stores to find one that we were willing to spend money on.  And then after we finished shopping, we needed to pack and shower and get ready.  We squeezed in going to see Oz for lunch but it was really tight.  By the time we got back to Blue Bells to pick up our stuff, we were an hour behind schedule.  So we got a taxi, ran for the trains at Paddington station...ran from the trains to another shuttle train...ran from the shuttle train to check-in.  We made it to check-in 10 minutes before it closed.  Then we ran to security.  I got pulled aside for extra screening.  So then we had to run down to the gate....all the way at the end of the terminal.  We run up to the gate...me panting and sweating...and the gate agent says...

"We haven't started boarding yet..."

Oh man, wow!  But he does say I've got time to go into the lounge and get a drink and clean up a bit.

I did finally dry off about halfway through the flight...thanks to using all 3 of the vents that blow out.

So all of that, and I never did get to see the Changing of the Guard, or go up in the London Eye, or see Big Ben...

And now we are home.  Time to try to sell all of our stuff...

Eh?
That was fleeting? How come you had to come to England and leave so quickly when you're coming back?

Did I tell you about www.laterooms.co.uk ? Great site - if you've not booked certain places yet. Not sure it'll bring you any luck with the Isle of Man, but it will hopefully be useful!

Re: Eh?
Taking advantage of some travel arbitage and working some black travel magic with my company footing the bill. Saves them money and allows us to travel more for free. It's a long story and I'll tell you over a pint when I see you in a month.

Rush, rush, rush!
My goodness. By the time you got to the boarding lounge you probably had a big-red-face! Now you have to return to London to see what you missed.
