The largest blessing out of our exhausting day was seeing my wife's face waiting for me outside the gate in KC.  It was like watching my first sunset and firework's show all together at the same time.  As I hugged her, the joy of being home overwhelmed me as I realized just how lucky I was to have experienced a day where people gathered together despite devastated personal plans, race, religion, status or any other normal prejudice and simply supported each during a difficult day.  I had been given my Christmas gift, I was home!

After a good night's sleep we got up the next morning and had breakfast as a family.  I took some time to set outside and absorb the cool, cold crisp midwest winter weather... aaahhh have to love the cold!
