The past few days were a bit more relaxed than the weekend has been.. Good to catch up on some sleep and finally let the jetlag kick in a little. On Sunday I went to Sausalito with Kristen and Sophia. There's a kids' museum there where they were going to spend the afternoon, so I tagged along to explore the area a bit and take some nice pictures. I was told the view from the North bay was amazing, and it definitely was! Clear views of the entire city and the beautiful Golden Gate Bridge.

On Monday I met up with Melisa and Francois, two people I worked with last summer at Aspera, for lunch in Emeryville. We went to the Townhouse, an really nice restaurant close to the office. It's the company's local hangout, which serves great food! I had the Thai beef salad, it was sooo tasty! It was nice to go into the office and see some of the people that I spent time with while I was over here last summer. After lunch I took the Bart (SF's underground) and headed into the city to meet the guy I'm going to be travelling with for the next two weeks. We met near Delores Park and got to know each other a bit before we set off together this week. He seems like a very nice person! I think it'll be fun to travel together! After that we went to Twin Peaks, another great viewpoint over the city. The timing was perfect, because it was almost sunset and the light over San Francisco was beautiful! (I was kicking myself for not bringing my proper camera.. So excuse the crappy iPhone images! Haha!)

On Tuesday, today, I just spent some time at the Vyas residence catching up on email etc. and sorting a few things out before I set off for my two-week adventure tomorrow. I also walked down into town to see what Election Day was like in the US. People really get into it over here, it was quite an interesting experience! Oh, and last but not least.. I went to the store today and bought beer!!! My own first legal 21+ alcohol purchase in an American supermarket! I was so happy when they asked to see my ID!
