Day 14 - (April 30) -- We got off the road earlier than usual unintentionally.  When we looked in our Passport America and KOA books it looked like nothing in the areas we were heading in Maine were going to be open.  The earliest was opening tomorrow.  We thought what the heck we will try it and if it isn't open we will find a Walmart or Casino parking lot.  Well, we arrived at the KOA at Bar Harbor and there was a work party going on getting it ready to open ... they would let us stay the night for a $25 donation to a charity (Kid's Camp I think they said).  They said there would be no amenities but turned out we had power and water and even ended up with wifi -- and better wifi than last night.  We walked the campground and along the beach.  It is a lovely campground with a waterview as there is no one in front of us.  It has been relaxing and nice.

We headed to the coast from our site last night and saw some coast but it is not quite so touristy as the first part.  Yesterday we were seeing ads for Lobster rolls.... Denis was set that would be his lunch today only we saw no one advertising them.  We did stop at a lovely looking place-- Lobster Pound-- in Lincolnville Beach I believe but it wasn't opening till tomorrow.  Onward, Belfast called us to stop for lunch and we found a pub on the harbor.  Free pool on Wednesday so we played three games and had a tasty lunch- not the lobster roll Denis wanted but tasty and the service was good.

We crossed an amazing bridge over Penobscot Narrows if memory serves me.  If it had been May 1st we could've ridden and elevator to the top of the one tower and had a wonderful 360 degree view.

This has been a grand adventure so far despite the timing being slightly off making it cooler and things not open for the season.  This also means it's not so busy traffic-wise especially in most places which is appealing to me.  Tomorrow we will return to Canada for awhile.
