I was going to go to Philedelphia to run up the rocky stairs, but because of budgetary constraints, my States trip needs to be "modified". Thus I skipped Phili and went straight to Washington. Stayed at this pretty awesome hostel called the Hilltop Hostel. Was a house a few stops out of the center. Full of people. But the great thing was it had cable tv with over 400 channels! Like 50 movie channels! I didnt go to bed early!

I walked around Washington, saw the sights. I saw the White house and thought it was small and not the white house. For some reason I thought the white house was the white building in Independance day. But thats the capitol building.

I went to the reflection pool and the Lincon memorial steps and imagined I was Forrest Gump. You can almost see all the sights in Washington in a day if you dont go to any museums and the cold and the thought of 400 channels back at the hostel means that its easy to do nothing.

A night when I was walking into the TV room I met a group of college girls from Virginia's James Madison University. Ive never seen a group of people so fascinated by the Aussie accent. I hung out with them the following day. Saw a few museums and stuff. Saw the national history museum and it had an Australia section! I learnt things about kangaroos that i didnt even know. The College girls were great and it looks like I will have to somehow make my way upwards and back to Virginia as their school is 70% girls and they have no pants partys! Alabama doesnt look so crash hot anymore. Especially since there is no hostels at all in Alabama, Texas, or anywhere else down south! What would John Denver do???

I almost went back to Virigina for a night but it was to far away for the girls to bring me back. So i spent my last day in Washington Sleeping in. I got up and walked around at like 2pm. Headed to the Greyhound bus office. Then it began to rain light warm rain. But it was wierd. I wasnt getting wet.  It was snow!  The first time I have ever felt snow fall!

What began as a little snow, turned into a lot of snow. I almost died of frost bite. I headed to Arlington cemetary which turned into a marathon walk in the snow and i almost died. The light snow turned into a blizard and i had lost a glove! I visited the pentagon. Its so easy to find you just go to Pentagon station! Except you cant take pictures and you dont want to take pictures because it just looks like a wall.

So to sum it up. It snowed, i met a few college girls and I watched a lot of tv.

Cheers
