Wimbledon, Gilly and Orange Mocha Frappacinos....

I came to London for 3 reasons. 1) My plane ticket  made me have a stop here. 2) To see Wimbledon 3) To meet up with the great mythical ranga David Mark Baker.

Bakes

The time finally came when I would meet the legendary David Baker. Although I only got to see him for a couple of days as Baker being Baker was off to a festival.... Leaving me staying in his room and living with  his house mates! He hasn't changed that much. Still laughs the same, acts the same etc.. Although I was not impressed when I saw the lack of Volleys.. He doesn't really wear them that much anymore. It seems it isn't cool to wear volleys in London as everyone knows your an Aussie if you wear them. I was quite disgusted with his actions. I think to make me feel better he put a pair on at some point. He also appears to be more clean shaven and not shy away from pictures. No more of the legendary hand in front of the face shots! I don't want to say too much about Bakes as he wouldn't like me talking about him too  much! We may all be in a fight to get him to come back to Sydney! So send off those emails to him boys and girls!

Wimbledon

in order to get into Wimbledon I had to queue up from 7:30 in the morning. Then I had to wait another 4 hours just to get in the gate. This is only for ground pass tickets. So you can't get into the center court, court 1 and court 2. Sucks a bit.. as all the ones you want to see are on those courts. All though I did see some good matches on the outside courts. Gilles Simon, Mauresmo, Kutzenova, and the Williams sisters to name a few. I was lucky because I was by myself. I didn't have to wait to get a seat at the better matches. They would just yell out “is their any singles?” I would reluctantly say yes and walk in front of all the couples. In order to get center court tickets you have to either go in the ballot at least  6 months before or start queuing at 4pm the day before and camp overnight for the 500 tickets they give out each day. I wasn't keen to do this! So I will have to wait to see Federer back home some day! I did see one great sportsman. Adam Gilchrist (Gilly)

Wanted to get a picture. Looked behind me who did I see?? Gilly!!

I said "Hey Gilly!!"

no one recognised him

I said "Hows it going?"

He said "Not bad, hows your day been?

I said in a crackling voice "Not bad yeah, How bout yours?"

Then I asked for a picture with him. His mate took the pic. I walked down thought complex next to him for a while. No one knew it was him... I knew i had to get a picture to make you boys at home jealous. Maybe it was because I was wrecked from the long day. But, Gilly looks younger than I!! Its a bad picture of me yes!!

London extras

I did other things in London too. Went to a couple of museums and saw another movie (Angels and Demons). London is so different to when I was here last Its summer as compared to winter before. Everybody seems much happier. There is people lying out in the sun everywhere and resting on monuments. I still couldn't live here, although I like it a lot better this time! I have been having early nights. Trying to get my body back in order for the crazy people of Paris. Off to France tomorrow! Oh la la
