Me and my wife met Jorge this morning and drove to a beautiful beach in Pinones, it was several miles long with no buildings or homes just a quiet non tourist area. We all searched for small sea shells and relaxed in the warm sun. After a couple of hours we drove further down the beach to some small roadside food establishments and enjoyed some freshly prepared food. We of course had to try almost one of everything it was all fried but had different ingredients such as a taco de Camarones not the traditional shrimp taco the meal was dished out then the shrimp and sauce went into the hollowed out center then it was rolled in a banana leaf and deep fried, The same was true for all of the rest of the menu. I would highly recommend trying out the food from these roadside vendors. After that we got a tour of the neighborhood were Jorge grew up in Guaynabo, We stopped at a little bakery around the corner and enjoyed some dessert. We left there and went to Isla de Cabras (Goat Island) which is across from San Felipe Del Morro Fort. Their is a small fort there called San Juan de la Cruz that was built to help protect the inlet to the bay it was later used to isolate people with leprosy. after that we headed back to the hotel to rest and find something to eat. After walking down the main drag in Condado "Ashford" we anded up back at Orozco's and enjoyed some Arroz y Habichuelas (Rice and Beans) another fine meal at this Restaurant.
