Keaira, Elizabeth and Alexsander stayed at the cabin with bestamor (Grandma Kotti) as the hike would be somewhat steep and too difficult for little legs. At this elevation the wind is quite stiff and after borrowing a lot of clothing for warmth, we finally set out for our hike. In all, there are 10 of us hiking: Gunnulf, Stein, Julie, Tobias, Christopher, Me (packing Elias)
I just love these hikes in Norway, stunning scenery, clean air and good company. The whole while hiking, I'm thinking of my mom's Country magazine which has a feature in each issue called: "Now This is God's Country". The idea is to show the beauty - in photos - of a particular part of the country... while walking, I keep saying to myself, NOW THIS IS GOD'S COUNTRY.
After each of the kids had a chance to fish, we needed to go back; both because we were cold and it was getting late. We hiked back and arrived about 7:30PM. Gunnulf informed us that we had walked 8km (5mi).
During our hike, Kari had prepared us a grand dinner; which we ate until stuffed again. After dinner we sat around the cabin and visited until 10PM. Stein got a good work-out translating for us as his dad (Gunnulf) speaks very little English.
What a pleasant day - now the drive back to Kongsberg, we should arrive around midnight...
