We spent Christmas Eve at Robs ex wives house. It was sooo weird. His ex and daughter are lovely people but it did not feel like Christmas what soo ever. First of all, wihout snow it is the weirdest thing. I have never left Canada for Christmas before. Whenever it snows i automatically think that Christmas is around the corner. Clearly there is no snow here. Not only that but it isnt even cold enough to wear a winter jacket or warm clothes. THis is another thing that i am used to in December. Secondly, not many people have christmas lights on their houses. I dont feel that Christmas spirit here at all. Robs ex didnt even have a christmas tree or any Christmas decorations around. Thirdly and most importantly, i didnt have my family here. Thank god i had Krissy with me at least. Christmas eve is a huge evening in my family and im soo used to spending time with all of them. It is by the far the biggest family gathering of the year. So with no family around it was extremly weird. Im used to having special dishes for christmas which is tradition. We had a wonderful meal and it was a nice evening but it did not feel like Christmas at all. The rest of the night we just watched a Christmas special on tv and that was that. I just couldnt get into that Christmas Spirit.

ONce Kristens mother and sister arrived on Christmas day everything was much better. They are the closest thing to family that i have and i love there company very much. I havnt seen them in 6 months so it was great to see them. They brought the Christmas spirit from Canada to Australia. We didnt celebrate Christmas until the 27th so that they could recover from Jet Lag. We had a fantastic evening. Kristens mother bought everyone incredible gifts. She totally spoiled everyone including myself. SHe bought me a beautfil Guess shirt. I got pissed (Drunk in AUSSIE) with robs dad. Jim is an awesome guy. I dont drink that much back home but here they booze all the time. Jims dad is 84 and he drinks like a 12 pack a day. Me and him were drinking all the time over the holidays.

Jackie, Kristen and myself ended up leaving robs house a few days after Christmas. Long story short, me and him did not get along and it was for the best that i left his house. I overstayed my visit at his place so it was time for me to move on. The 3 of us went back to Perth. NO better place to spend new years in WA.
