JET LIVE AT HAMMERSMITH APOLLO
-----------------------------------
On Monday I bought a couple of tickets to Jet, who were playing on Wed night at Apollo in Hammersmith. It was a spur of the moment buy - found the ad on gumtree.com and met the guy in Oxford Circus after work
I surprised Fiona by coming home with the tickets and sang "Big Black Boots...Long Brown Hair..... we're gonna see Jet" so excited I jumbled all the words and we jumped up and down and screamed!!!
So Wednesday night we pumped ouselves up by watching Jet music videos and even watched You're the Voice by John Farnham to get us into the Aussie mood. Too funny - haven't heard that song in ages.
At the Apollo, my ticket wouldn't scan and had to try 3 different scanners. For a split second I thought I had bought a dodgy ticket, but finally got through the gates.

The Apollo looked like it used to be a theatre. It was packed. We were in the standing stalls. Jet came on at 9:30pm and played til 11pm.
They were bloody amazing. Very excellent live. My fave songs were "Are you gonna be my girl", "Look what you've done" and "Cold hard bitch". The crowd were really pumped up - crowd surfing and fists punching the air. Fiona and I were singing along and dancing. So much fun. The crowd was mostly Aussies. Been feeling really patriotic here - miss all things Aussie. Even been listening to Nova (Melbourne radio station) and felt homesick when they read the traffic report and mentioned the delays on the West Gate bridge. haha
So thrilled though. Before the show I turned to Fiona and said "Can you believe we are in LONDON and waiting to watch JET" What an unbelievable feeling of happiness and contentment.
Fiona felt a bit faint halfway through the show so went to the back to get some air. This girl pushed next to me so I felt squashed. She pushed aside the crowd to move to the front, so I followed her. haha. So I got a really great view near the front. But not near the crowd surfers or empty bottles of water in the air.

I videoed some of the songs but my camera is stuffed - the sound didn't come out and I was too excited so I get a bit nauseous watching the replay.
I wasn't a big Jet fan. But I'm so glad Fiona and I went. Had a blast. And they were sooooo good. So great to see a great rock band play live. And one from Melbourne.
IMPRESSION: Singing to Are You Gonna Be My Girl with the entire crowd and JET .... in LONDON .... Great memory.
