La Coste was our first stop, and it was a good excuse to see a small of-the-beaten-path medieval town. It had very steep and narrow cobbled streets lined with ancient stone buildings, some of which are still lived in and some of which are falling apart. The chateau itself has mainly fallen down, but is being restored to become a conference center and theatre. Oddly, the Savannah College of Art and Design (GA) also has a study abroad program & "campus" there.
