Five Cannucks, a few Aussie's, an American (me), and a pair of Kiwi's; add that with several bottles of Vodka and a bus driver that called himself "Pinocchio" - now you know the ingredients that made up the bus ride from Athens to Corfu. This bus ride was a wild one - filled with dancing and drinking games - the bus was even loaded with an upgraded stereo system and disco lights. To say the least we partied pretty hard; however I knew I was in trouble when we finally arrived to our "hostel resort" (The Pink Palace) in Corfu at 6 o'clock in the morning and people were still up partying themselves.
The Pink Palace might be the first hostel that has a resort style feel to it. For 25 Euro per night, I was given a private room with a bathroom (located right on the beach) and the price included breakfasts and dinners during my stay. The breakfast was the typical hostel serving of bread, cheese, and ham; however dinner was surprisely good. I was thinking that it was going to be comparable to the San Quentin State Prison menu, but it was a three course meal that was usually pretty good (Baked chicken, Spaghetti, etc). Life in Corfu was simple and fun. Basically, it was relaxing during the day and partying at night. There are tons of stuff to do during the day... I filled my days up with an ATV safari, snorkeling, and I rented an ATV another day to explore the rest of the island.
Corfu is a beautiful place! It's an island filled with green vegetation (unlike many of the other Greek isles) and the ocean water has clear shade of turquoise. The Pink Palace was located (in my opinion) at the most scenic part of the island (Gordis Beach). Besides the 42 mosquitoes bites; Corfu was a great!!!
Now I'm racing up to Geneve...

From KIDDYKIDDY.....
Hey Matt!
Your mom said I could peck away and drop a note to you IF my paws fit the keyboard. They almost are too big, but you know I gotta write to my main tormenter! I miss you man! Your mom sorta handles me with kid gloves....you always were irritating me...I sorta miss it actually. Anyways, it sounds like you are really having a great time and your pictures are awesome. Maybe next time you can take me along as a mascot and girl magnet. I must say, however, it doesn't appear you need any help. BTW, that Kristy girl was really gorgeous in your Athens photos....she looked kinda familiar...prrrrr. Well, you know me, I'm kinda hungry and I need to keep myself in 'shape' so you know me when you come home...you are coming home some day, AREN't you? prrrr. Continue with the blogs, your mom always reads them to me. I like knowing what you are up to! Your bud....POOMbah. prrrrrrrr.
Party in Corfu
Must have been hard to leave!!
The orange blankie!
Regarding the ferry ride from Corfu to Venice ... can you even TRY to explain the smell for us all! Oh my, I wonder what would smell worse - a cat's litter box in a small condo or THAT!
