Up for breakfast at 7 to start our Tour of Manuel Antonio National Park with Ersel at 7:45 and what a wonderful young man and fantastic experience.  Because of his love of his country and especially all the animals, birds, insects etc.  he not only brought the jungle alive for us but also increased our "stopping" experience.  For it is impossible to find and see the animals if one does not slow down to engage all senses - listening for the trill of different birds and he explained what each sound meant and knew how to "call" each one; the scent of the howler monkeys which indicated they had passed through and were just ahead; the peering into a place full of green leaves, looking, looking until you could distinguish 2 beautiful parakeets, only noticeable by their brilliant red beaks; gazing intently at a tree's bark only to discover a normally nocturnal geeko - so camouflaged that he at first appeared part of the bark. Ersel could not have been more excited!  And more and more...appreciating the circle of life in the wilds which teaches us, if we pause and reflect, how simple it is to feel that life is good and full and real and which ultimately, if engaged, one finds great peace and satisfaction and happiness.  So easy to be happy when not trying, simply seeing and appreciating - the humour pops out naturally and we laughed with this delightful young man.  He stopped to share fruit with us upon returning to the hotel and told us the story of guiding a deaf person and how new and fascinating as well as fun that was for him - simply a most interesting and happy young man - I would guess his age to be 25 or 26.  His beginning in life very basic but very real.  Lessons, lessons...

The pictures will tell most of the story except for the "break" on our tour where we had the most heavenly ocean swim off an amazing white sand beach - could have floated for hours - we are in heaven.

Decided to go 'off property" for dinner - crazy rough ride up to "Ronny's" for the best meal yet.  Ceviche - I had mixed seafood, R had shrimp - best I had ever tasted!  huge seafood meals after that "starter" - glad for bumpy ride down to bounce the meal around!! heh - that's what our delightful driver told us to do - "relax!  it is like a massage!!" He was another wonderful young man - they all seem so content with life here!  Another drove us from the welcome area to hotel in golf cart and all of a sudden stopped - didn't say a word - and we listened to the night - absolute darkness - no light at all.
Pura Vida, Pura Vida - these words will live with us forever.
