Where I stayed
Up and off, leaving Kinsale in brilliant sun. Simply amazing weather. Who said it rained all the time in Ireland?? I think we are actually just super lucky!!
Arrived in good time into Dublin, following the careful directions provided by the B and B and then, oh dear, 40 minutes later of very frustrating one way roads near Trinity College, we discovered that we'd turned left instead of right half a block from our B and B - urrrggggh! big cities - not our favourites, particularly for driving within. And of course we're on the top floor - up 4 sets of stairs with all our stuff/gifts to pack up!!
I'd read of the Book of Kells being housed in the Trinity College so for our one touristy thing while in Dublin - off we trotted....innkeeper said 15 minutes....30 minutes ++ then trotted through the exhibit - gorgeous and memorable - ogham writing even used! ...then to find the pub the chap suggested. FULL of fellas - few women - getting all pumped for the Ireland vs Germany soccer match tonight. Not our cozy Pubs from the rest of the trip in small Irish towns.
So here we sit - too tired to head out for dinner, watching the Big Game, eating my leftover figs, dates, with an appie of Hula Hoops, a few mints, raisins, dates, a few pumpkin seeds - might even find a biscuit for dessert! Just can't face going out again - don't even know what we'd want to eat :).
Should be a quiet morning to get to airport with all the lager louts nursing sore heads!!
Wonderful wonderful holiday. Ireland we love you!
