What a difference a good night's sleep makes! as well as the sun blazing once again, just when we needed it!!

Pretty grey when we awoke, had a good moderate breakfast (yeah for oatmeal!) and once again!!  the SUN came out!!  Rented bikes and off we went, feeling absolutely nuts riding bikes on these wee roads but soon got onto Scilly Walk and had a great ride (about 11 km total) to Charles Fort and back into town.  Now I normally don't care for Forts and all the military stuff surrounding them but this one I really liked.  It was beautifully maintained, views spectacular! And so much to see and learn about.  And of course, no one around. Crazy riding on wobbly rental bikes :)  up narrow roads and hills - gears pretty minimal so even had to walk a hill!!  had a resident pooch show us the way along from Summer Cove - oh what a crazy country.  But we made it safe and sound, shaking our heads at the nutty things the 2 of us do.

Sun shone all day, back and dropped off bikes after Bha nearly got herself run over by scooting between a reversing car and a wee lane.  Found Fishy Fishy Café – reportedly by many along the way as the best restaurant in Ireland and it was actually fantastic.  Seafood chowder yet again and the best ever – this time minced seafood in a tomato broth – just delish and lime/coriander calamari with a cold glass of Pinot Grigio – R with his Murphy’s Ale – great for a bit more shopping to take home treats for others – well R finally found a toque he liked and me some boots as the shoes I brought were falling apart lol.  Wonderfully friendly shopkeepers – had great conversations with them; complimentary tea in our café at the bottom of our Old Bank House Hotel and feet up until dinner.

Lovely dinner - awesome goatcheese and rocket tart with beetroot salsa; I had monk fish to die for and Rich great cod and we just had to go for the apple & winter berry crumblie.  Meal was included with our 2 night stay - fab deal! Strolled back to our room. Great day in Kinsale.
