A person just can NOT avoid purchases at the Christmas shops here - so that should take care of much gifting for this trip!!  Very fun and we bought our "momento"of the trip - a Cuckoo Clock for Whistler!  yes, boys, we can "shut the damn thing off" for quieter evenings - lol.  It even plays "Edelweiss" - how could I resist??  and there's Poppa chopping wood too!
Lots of poking about at different little shops - getting in out of rain and wind - brrr - had to buy another scarf to keep warm!
Oddly we're finding German folk quite cool to strangers - maybe they just think we're American!!  need to wear our Cdn flags lol.  Once you get chatting in restaurants or hotels though they are great!  lots of fun and laffs.
Walked allll the wayyyy around the town after lunch on top of the wall - fabulous views - great covered walking - made for a relaxing calm day of vacation.
Delightful final evening - after wandering the town (first 'reservation' spot was 'full') landed in a funny little restaurant in Hotel Roter Hahn (Rooster) Rich had a fricken' Pork Hock!  see pic and I had a perfect fresh lettuce chicken salad - after our Brewski's!! oh this beer!  Rich: "Your boys would be proud of you".  Ended eve with a great 1/2 litre of wonderful Franconian Riesling and chat with our hotel hostess.  Lovely time in Rothenburg ob der Tauber.
Off to Frankfurt in the morning - probably enough driving for now - will be nice to just be driven/fly etc. our flight is in the early evening - will be so crazy and fun to meet the Barkers in the evening and see what it's like to travel with good friends!

Just got caught up on your travel! Looks like you're both having a lot of fun! Beautiful pics! We've had a busy week here. Finally began the build out of Nathan's clinic!!!! The sub floor is in and the walls have been framed, very exciting! Doesn't look like I'll be getting that day 75 in, the weather has been very warm, so no plans to head up to Whistler. Had a bit of a spill on my bike a few days ago, nothing serious, just a few nasty scrapes and bruises. Thankful for my in-house Chiropractor!!! Take care and enjoy your time with the Barkers!
