Happy Anniversary to us!

Up at 9:00 a.m.!  how novel!  and figured out the bike system here - just a tad user friendlier than London :).  But off we went.  First a quick stop at a local plaza - Plaza de Los Lorenzo.  Coincidentally the restaurant a New York couple recommended was on the corner of this square about a 5 minute walk from our hotel.  Shut tight but decided to check it out later in the day as a place for dinner. Found a sweet little man selling fans so souvenirs for the gals and a very typical flower for my hair.

Then over to Triana by one bridge- passed a few fishermen even!  Found a funny little shop and bought the earrings to match the flower etc.  Not too much to see but was fun to be part of the crowd, weaving and dodging walkers like all other bikers.  Back by another bridge to the Santa Cruz area and Cathedral - finally found a spot to drop bikes so that we could grab a bite to eat and not worry about them.  Simple gazpacho soup with wine then off to the river to ride this side of it back to our hotel.  Basically spent 4 and 1/2 hours site seeing by bike - even considering those foldup bikes! as we love this way to see the city.  What fun and great exercise - really a good way to get a true feel of the city.  Cathedral line was long but saw the external beauty which at this time of our holiday we felt was enough.  We were interviewed by some cute kids practicing their English for school.  Not sure if they knew what we were saying as an answer but it was fun.

Back to our Hercules Plaza for a beer and not so swell spinach and cheese croquettes - water tasted good!!  Then to the restaurant and it looked quite up market so booked it  - we'll see!!  Happened on a lovely little gelato/pastry place on way back - first gelato of the trip!!  lemon even with bits in it!!

Home to a much needed shower - 25 degrees here!  but comfy with a breeze.

Plaza de Los Lorenzo restaurant - Az-Zait - Oh My Goodness - one the best meals we have ever eaten.  The whole experience was absolutely divine.  Very posh surroundings by our standards.  Started with Cava (Spain's champagne and ever so much better!) followed with a bubbly muscat!!  to accompany the meal.  Little perks such as complimentary starters and a sweet chocolate with a candle in the centre in honour of our anniversary added to the amazing gastronomic delight - #2 restaurant in Seville and really not out of site in terms of cost.  Would be much more expensive at home - at least double.  HIGHLY recommend. A fitting finale to our visit to Spain.
