OK, so we were standing on the wrong side of the road after our first crappy capaccino...along came the one we needed to get to the port at the north of the island of Malta. Deja vu Galiano days as we entered the wee ferry on the lower car level.  Sat on the sundeck for the 30 minute ride.  Grey busses on the other side :) - did I tell you the cost of these busses? .47 of a Euro - about $ .75 per ride each time and such awesome people watching.
Wandered around Victoria - can never tire of all these neat neat fortified narrow alley like villages.  This one took a bit of a search to find and a few 'words' (B - why didn't you tell me you'd seen a sign to the Citadel 20 minutes ago?? ..hey, we've done so well so far!!) then a lunch in Te Ricurdu - another unique eating experience - sigh...back to salads and no bread soon enuf...and WHAT?? no white wine with lunch?? :( :(
Great highlight: Taxi driver (taking a breather - literally!! away from diesel fumes!) from Victoria to a small fishing village.  Got 20 minutes away "Jesus Christ Super Star" he exclaimed (LOVE it - will be my new swear word) "they've closed the road for repairs!" how do the people get to their village today? "they walk".  So off to another site instead - and oh so worth it. A beautiful cathedral built by all the local $$ and people.  Soft glorious sandstone colouring, amazing carving in the stone work but not so "gold covered" as so many are.  Taxi driver sat for a spell as we did, absorbing the silence and peace as another older 3 some of locals chanted their prayers...echoing throughout...wow, oh wonderful wow.
Such belief as our taxi driver recounted stories of miracles occuring in the village because of a person connected to this church and his "administering"...even his aunt.  Dropped us at ferry - "Run, Run!! sez the crew member...and so of course we did.
Now we could have joined a tour bus for any or all of this but what fun is that???
And so we sit, in this beautiful hotel lounge, listening to a pianist who should be performing on a stage somewhere and ok guys - don't groan...Mom's almost soppy - he's playing "Edelweiss!!!" (my lullabye song to the 3 darling's :)
Oh dear - R found another great restaurant to try for our last eve here... - gotta pack too oh dear :) - off to London ...leaving here at 6 a.m. but life should be so rough..:)
Hope all is well and happy with each one of you wonderful friends and family back home reading all this chatter of mine.
Will try to do one more entry in London - hope internet connection works well - see you all soon!!  Love and hugs, Bevin
