Had to move quickly and Early this morn!   Ouch! Landed in Genova on little plane - military all lined up!!  They just Knew we were Royalty!  dunno who was in the private jet just nearby :).
Research on Genoa certainly did not prepare me for this absolutely delightful little Italian town!
Hilarious moment:  taxi driver "where you from?"  Canada - "French or English Canadians?" English - Good - those French are Stooopid, very stupid - I no like-a them!"  and he went on and on about how snobby he felt the French people were - all in his broken English - what a hoot .  First occasion to experience an Italian emotional male!!
Narrow little streets, oh we lack so much art work in our young cities - can't stop taking pictures - incredible!! Had fun buying a few Xmas gifts in wee shop.  Had first Italian Cappacino in such a cup I Had to take a picture! Funny little hotel on third floor - elevator up so tiny we had to go up individually with our suitcases - right in the heart of the old part of town - fantastico!
It is definitely a port town which was emphasized when we took a turn down a street where each doorway had an "interesting" buxom 'woman of the night' standing 'at attention" heh...we moved quickly back to a more "appropriate" area!  altho'  the pictures could have been very interesting - heh.
Could have stayed here another day/night easily but we're off to Cinque Terre in the morning by train.

I can't seem to stop sighing! .... Now I know that I NEED to go to Giverny and Versailles. And, back to Paris if only to hang out in pastry shops wearing bulky sweaters.
Lingering with longing over your photos. love, Lanett

you guys are all so awesome!!! The only connection I could get in Vernazza was sitting on frickin' cold stone steps outside the Internet shop after purchasing WiFi connection!! Now in Rome with terrific connection - have a busy night ahead to catch you all up with as much as I can however Cinque Terre is a whole book in itself! stories...stories!! so blessed.
