. The cabin is very spacious and quite traditional in style, the balcony a lot larger than the 8th deck cabins but of course being on the 7th deck means we have an overhang from the deck above - we do get some sun as it is going down but that's fine as there are usually plenty of spaces on the sun deck.Unpacking done it was time for dinner, but not before meeting up with Pauline for a pre-dinner drink in the observatory bar, which seemed a popular place this evening as passengers familiarised themselves with the ship.We have 6 dining companions, all seem very nice we just hope we remember everyone's names for tomorrow. An enjoyable meal on our first of 11.It was nice to see familiar faces again with waiters who remembered us from our trip a few weeks back, they must see so many passengers over the weeks but they remembered our name, guess we must have made our mark last time with them!We rounded off the evening in the Morning Light Bar listening to the singer & chatting to fellow passengers. It had been a long day so it was time for bed. No alarm setting this evening, we are staying in port overnight so will be in Santa Cruz tomorrow and decided to just take the day as it comes and maybe take an open top bus tour around the city.
The rain did not stop from the time our taxi arrived at 4.30 am until we arrived at Gatwick airport. A great deal of surface water on the road but thankfully everyone was driving sensibly. At the recent Great Hallingbury WI Luncheon I learnt that one of our members was also going on the same cruise so we invited Pauline to share our taxi, it made sense as we had to pass her road en route. We had only returned from a cruise departing from Tenerife a few weeks earlier so it was nice to be able to help Pauline through all the various formalities and procedures especially as she was travelling alone. We had a good flight, no delays and arrived In Tenerife to blue skies and sunshine, a far cry from the wet and windy weather we had left behind at home that morning.Once onboard we met up with Pauline for a well needed cup of tea, and by the time we had finished the luggage had been delivered to our cabins. We usually have a cabin on the 8th deck as we enjoy time on the balcony, but at the time of booking no 8th deck cabins cabins were available so we chose a balcony suite cabin instead on 7th deck
