Enjoyed a leisurely breakfast, chatting to a couple who had joined the ship in Southampton and were continuing on the World cruise which returns to Southampton in April!
The couple were from Sweden and like to escape the Swedish winters by cruising warmer climates. I mentioned that I have family in Sweden and apparently Our Captain is from Arland (Jenni wouldn't it be a coincidence if your parents new of Captain Robert Bamberg).
Now we are on board we see less of our fellow Titan passengers but it's nice to chat to Mark our tour Manager who is on hand to give advice or sort out any queries we may have.
Our first AT SEA day and there is lots on offer today - Bridge for beginners, Line dancing, "Create a Play, Watercolour class, Ballroom dance classes, guest choir, craft class
I chose the craft class, the creation will feature later in my blog :)
Relaxing on the deck was our next activity, so exhausting ! it was rather blowy but the sun came out for a little while.
This afternoon I listened to a very interesting talk "Joseph Banks Endeavour and the discovery of Australia"
The speaker Evelyn Evans told the story how Joseph Banks aboard Captain Cooks ship Endeavour collected many different plant species on the voyage of discovery to New South Wales and Australia.
I had not realised that the Banksia plant had been named after Joseph Banks.
The talk accompanied by a photographic presentation was full of interesting historical facts and of great interest to me the Importance of all those discoveries of exotic and unusual plants.
In case you are wondering David & his friend Bert had a restful day.
