The Road Ends in Athens
Trip Start Oct 13, 2012
22Trip End Nov 02, 2012
We spent our last day in Athens visiting the new Acropolis Museum. It holds some of the original statues from
the Acropolis that are undergoing cleaning and rejuvenation. It’s interesting that part of the
reconstruction includes using plaster to fill in missing parts so the statue
looks whole, ie, most legs of horses are missing so they make plaster casts
that look like horse legs. So instead of
seeing pieces and parts, we’re now seeing the whole. We have a farewell dinner tonight then off to
the airport at 3:45 in the morning.
We hope you have enjoyed going along with us on our
trip. It was great for us knowing we
were sharing our pictures and experiences with all of you as we went along.
