Naxos is the largest and most mountainous island, 3,294 feet above sea level, topped by Mount Zeus. It rained this morning so we couldn't take our hike up the mountain so we took the bus. There is beautiful marble in the mountains. We went up to an old quarry where "they" left a statue just laying on the ground. It's been there forever and no one knows why. They didn't even make up a story. There are lots of stories and myths here in Greece.

We visited an authentic Olive Oil press, not in use today. We then stopped and watched a potter at his craft. Then on to a distillery where we drank their liquors made out of citrus leaves.

It has stopped raining and the sun is shining on the lovely white buildings going up the mountain side.

Tonight we are having dinner at a Greek home. Should be very nice. I want to get this out to you before I loose the internet connection so I'll tell you about the dinner later.
