Where I stayed
The flight on Turkish Air from Kappadokia to Istanbul took one hour. They served breakfast and a beverage. What a concept!
Today is a quiet day since we're waiting on the other half of the tour group to join us. We came early on a pre-trip to see Ankara and Kappadokia. The others chose to just see Istanbul and the Greek Islands. Tomorrow is the grand tour of Istanbul so today we just walked around our hotel which is located in the Old City. The pictures we took are of a nearby mosque, our hotel, the busy streets of the city and the University of Istanbul established in 1436 or thereabouts. It's older than Harvard which was established in 1643 or thereabouts.
Istanbul is a city of about 16 million. It is the only city located on two continents. One third of the city is located in Asia, the other two thirds in Europe.
More on the city tomorrow!

Really enjoying your blog. It brings back memories for jack from his tour there in the eighties. The weather looks gorgeous. Stay safe and have fun
