Started the day off with a great workout in the hotel gym (Ben, you'd be SO proud!), then headed out for breakfast at Jack's Bar near the hotel. Strolled along the pier to see some national park ships that are being restored, including a paddle steamer, tug, antique ferry, tall ship and more. A group of people were in the water for a morning swim -- must have been chilly!

We decided to take a cable car ride up to Lombard Street, the most crooked street in the world -- crazy S curves and steep! There happened to be a film crew doing a shoot right there, so we watched for a few minutes (thought of my cuz Mick) then headed down the street to catch another cable car. A $14 day transit pass for each of us let us ride all day, city wide -- great deal. Went to Macy's at Union Square and was delighted to explore their Christmas displays (Norma, we GOTTA go to New York to see their window displays)!

Wandered up to Market Street to take a streetcar to the Castro, where we stopped by the Hot Cookie just steps from the streetcar stop -- mmmm-MMMMM!!!

Walked up Castro to Haight-Ashbury, then turned north and walked west along gorgeous Panhandle park all the way to Golden Gate Park. Nearby, we caught #5L bus, which took us all the way to the Pacific Ocean at Ocean Beach. Gorgeous rolling surf with sunshine glinting off the waves and a huge wide beach that went on for miles. A few folks were running or playing with their dogs along the shore.

We walked north along the ocean to Cliff House and Seal Rocks, then stopped at a 7-11 store to get a sandwich, strawberries and water for lunch. Once again, we caught a streetcar, this time the #38 to take us back to Market Street where we caught the F Market bus to go all along the Embarcadero piers to our hotel.

Enjoyed a quick rest before going to the hotel lobby to grab a glass of wine and plan tomorrow's adventures. There, we shared some great conversations with a great couple from Phoenix, Arizona -- they were so much fun!

Still time after that to head out on the cable cars once again to Chinatown, where we grabbed a great meal at San Fran's oldest Chinese restaurant, the Four Season. Had to walk/climb a couple of wheezy steep blocks to head back by cable car to Fisherman's Wharf for another stroll back to the hotel. What a day!
