Where I stayed
We flew from Frankfurt to Alghero Sardinia on Ryanair. This was our first time on this airline. If you follow all their rules and keep your luggage to a minimum it will save you lots of money.
We spent the first night in Alghero - a beautiful walled town. The next day we drove out to Cap Caccia to see Neptune's Grotto. It is a beautiful drive but we were not able to visit the cave due to high surf. We then drove out to the point of Stintino. We continued on and spent the night in Castelsardo at a Bed and breakfast.Castelsardo has a wonderful ruined castle.
We continued on along the North Coast - then down the east coast. The east coast is pretty deserted and you must rent a boat to reach some of the more remote beaches. There is also some very beautiful hikes and mountains in the interior.
We then headed to the West coast where there are some good Greek and Roman ruins. There is also some beautiful little towns. We ended our 10 days in Cagliari where we flew to Pisa.
