Back to the twisty-turny spaghetti roads to return to Ende for a visit to the smelly fish market and food market. Packed with stalls, shoppers, vendors and the ever present motorbikes the market showed fish being de-scaled, chopped and sold.
The lady vendors mostly had rouge lips and blackened teeth from the betel nut chewing habits. They were quick to show me how it is done to mix the betel nut leafs with the powder made from crab shells - and they were quick to offer me a try which I politely declined.
Spices, rice, tobacco, fruit, veggies and lots more betel nut supplies were all for sale.
