The car trip to the airport was fairly uneventful yet surprisingly only took about 40 minutes. We pulled out the front of the international departures at 1.10pm and quickly unpacked the car. Check in was a quick process and Nikita had thankfully checked us in on the internet before we left meaning we could skip the line and just drop our bags off. We headed down to McDonalds for lunch as the rushing around earlier today had caused most of us to not have had much to eat. We eventually headed through customs and down to the gate we were departing for. After waiting around for about and hour it was finally time to board the plane.
We were now ready for the first leg of the trip to Singapore. The plane departed right on time and left the runway a few minutes before 4pm. On the plane, Celeste sat next to the window with dad next to her then Bronte on the isle. Nikita sat across from Bronte with mum, Noah and then me on the other isle. Although we were flying until 1 in the morning, Melbourne time, we tried to keep awake to save our sleep for the 15 hour flight to Manchester. Although I had the option of using the inflight movie system, I chose to pull out my ipod and listen to music. The food came around not long after the start of the flight where I had some kind of chicken curry with rice that was very nice. I listen to some more music and played cards games with Noah for most of the rest of the flight. The next meal that came out was around 3 hours later and I had pork noodles. For the rest of the flight I watched a couple of movies before it was time to pack away electronics for landing.
