Mum and Dad's day :)
Today Rach, Anna and I decided to take a little road trip... mission: icre-cream eating.
We caught a bus out of Cusco (costing a grand total of 40p), to the town of Huacarpay. We then caught a taxi to the lake of Huarcarpay (a more expensive 50p fare...). And then we sat and admired.
The lake is beautiful; stretching out between rows of mountains, it is truly stunning. We found a suitable place to have our picnic. (This brought problems of it's own - afterwards we spent about 30 minutes trying to find a suitable place to wee... I won't say much more, except we kept finding cactus prickles in uncomfortable places...)
Then we walked into another town a few miles down the raod, Lucre, which has an infamous Dairy Farm, selling wickedly good ice-cream. Our ice-cream sampling mission complete, we headed back to the hustle and bustle of Cusco.
Yummy!
Love Bethers xxxxxx (Ps. whilst we are on the subject of food, thought you might like to know I am eating a Borrachito as I type... just keeping up the tradition...)
Hoy Rachel, Anna y yo fuimos al laguna de Huacarpay, un pueblo cerca de Cusco. Fue bonito, pero mejor era el Granja Lacteo donde venden helados. Que rico!
Un dia perfecta con comida perfecto
Yummy!

Better than nettles
I wonder which is preferable, cactus spikes or nettle stings which bring back one or two childhood memories, though to be fair, I think I only got caught once by the nettles. Glad you enjoyed the ice cream, and are still able to enjoy your chocolate. Life is going to be very tame when you get home with boring old Walls and Cadburys.
that made me laugh
Beth,
just replied to your email so won't waffle to much, but just read your ice cream blog and still find it funny when you say things like '(a more expensive 50p fare...)' - 50p and expensive don't really go together, it's rather amusing lol.....so if everything is cheap over there, does that mean your one of the wealthiest people in peru, seen as you are from britain lol
