Pam and David Martin´s day :)

Now, having spent almost 2 months in Peru, I highly doubt that there is anything as organised as a Highway code. So I have decided to come up with one. It might not bear much resemblance to the one we use in the UK, but at least Peruvians would follow this one...

Rules for drivers:
1) Both road and footpath are for your general use. Feel free to stray between the two whenever necessary/ desirable.
2) Pedestrians are for your amusement. The aim of the game is to hit them. If you manage to take down a Llama or Alpaca at the same time, you will receive 50 extra points.

3) Traffic lights and the Traffic Police are there to be ignored. With Traffic Police, follow rule 2.

4) Use your horn as often as possible. Obviously, there is nothing more satisfying than waking up to the sound of a horn being used needlessly. Consider it your duty to society.

5) If you are travelling with passengers, make sure you drive more recklessly, or ´excitingly´ than usual, particularly if your car has the usual lack of seatbelts.

Rules for Pedestrians:
1) Both road and footpath are for your general use. Feel free to stray between the two whenever necessary/ desirable.
2) Vehicles are for your amusement. They are more expensive than you are, if you can manage to cause an accident, do. It will cost more to fix the car than it will to fix you. If you can somehow manage to include a Llama or Alpaca in the carnage, do, the results will be infinitely more interesting.

3) Traffic lights and Traffic Police are there to be ignored. With traffic lights, Red means ´Go´, Amber and Green also mean ´Go´. With Traffic Police, violent whistle blowing and arm shaking signify ´This road is safe for you to cross.

4) Always ignore car horns. It is merely a drivers way of displaying his supremacy. Do not give him the satisfaction of moving to the footpath, even if your life (or that of your Llama or Alpaca) is at stake.

5) If you spot a car with passengers, and with the usual lack of seat belts. Dodge and weave in the road so that the car is forced to drive more recklessly or ´excitingly´ than usual.

I swear, when I get back to England, I will never be frightened ever again.

Love and smiles, Bethers xxxxx

Nunca.

Besos, Bethers xxxxx

hey look, a nuclear bomb!
lol sounds like a hoot! my type of place to learn to drive :D

and never be scared you do realise {once i feel it is safe to approach you and not contract any weird disease you have} that it is now a challange between me and ben to scare you the first ;D

sounds like your better anyways - so now seems like an appropiate time to tell you george is leaving you for me. we are going to elope {he may try to deny this but we all know its true}.

AND before in on of your previous entries you mentioned that you 'suffered badly' from mumps and that you had 'miss a week of school'.

i would just like to remind you missy that you did not suffer mumps - you merely shared a body with it for about two days with no real pain or sufference.
whereas me and ben are lucky to be here {ok slight over exageration but hey!}

and i would like to point out to anyone who has been bored enough to read this far down that while beth has been enjoying typhoid. I have been unfortunate enough to have .... a cough AND a cold!
i know! both! feel free to shower me with love and money {as the insurance adverts claim - it really helps with pain..somehow}

lol anyways i have nothing else of any relevence to say {not that the rest was remotely intresting or important - however it probably was longer then anyother message left by anyone else on travelpod, ever}

so I bid you all a fond adieu!
