We have spent the last 3 days in Venice. Today we got some souveniers - Oliva got a cool sweatshirt with Italian colors, Soph got a Venetian mask, and Xavier wanted a futbol shirt (soccer). Bri looked, but is waiting for some fine leather goods further south that are less expensive...
We all took a ride in a Gondole throught the canals - pretty cool I must say...

Don and I were surprised at the amount of air pollution here! We weren't expecting that at all... I had heard that the water in Venice was yucky -  and it is true. It often smells bad (like sewer) and there is litter in the water too... Still it's amazing how old this all is, and the amount of construction that goes on probably all year long to keep up with the changes...

We did see a movie being filmed right when we got here!!!! We stood on the bridge over the grand canal and watched them do a couple of takes with a boat. We heard that it's for the movie with Angelena Jolie and Johnny Depp? But not sure?? Anyway it was cool! Tomorrow we will head to Florence :)

lets us apprecuate the states compared to the rest of the world, I was shocked at the pollution in H.K and China hope its not as bad in Italy. Love Dad
