For those of you on tender hooks: Dan has all his limbs intact, we had steak. Full intention to go out for dinner like a proper grown up couple but when we got to the restaurant we noticed that the area was less then fruitful and, as a bonus, there was an option to take away. Any place that lets you have a flame grilled rib eye steak as a take away is good in my book. We took it back to the hotel and we ate it with our hands. It was heaven. I do wish everyone wouldn't smother everything with melted butter, it makes me feel like a rancid pulp.

We rose early and bravely got the bus which was not too different to an Alton Towers roller coaster. We nipped for some of that smashing chowder then hiked up Lombard Street to reach the squiggly wiggly road. I have never been up roads so steep; they were ridiculous. My feet actually slipped backwards out me flip flops. We reached the top on a sweaty mess and basked in the lovely views. The houses and streets here are awesome. I would love to go flying down those streets on my little scooter or perhaps some of those spiffing Heelies the youths of today insist on wearing.

We then tumbled back down the hill again to the pier. Now, I don't know about you, but walking down steep hills is not something I do with ease or grace. Due to my spherical stature and freakishly minute tootsies I start of slow but then, due to the top heavy weight, start to lean forward and speed up; because my feet are so small they just peddle at it hammer and tongue and my chubby little arms start flapping like a new born bird in early flight in an attempt to maintain some kind of balance. The entire time this is happening ten foot tall Dan is only half way through one of his long legged strides, so you can imagine how we look together? This lengthily spindly giant taking great lollops down the hill with this whirring, squawking bouncy broad ricocheting betwixt his shiney white trainers like a pin ball.

Henyway, once at the bottom, we dusted me off, then took some more photos of surrounding stuffs then went for a beer. The day was them consumed with gentle sightseeing and me looking at art galleries before nipping into the apple store so that I could lick all the produce then got the violent bus back to the hotel. I did purchase a tiny number plate for my bicycle at home, named Pricilla, that has pleased me. I do just need a basket for it now so I can ride around with Tom Tom sat in it.

We have decided upon a quite night in, for two reasons, one: Alcatraz in the morning so need to be up ready for the hideous bus again and two: we have found a splendid tv channel which is narrated by a gravelly throated American gent all about devious riff raff NEARLY getting away with crimes. It's terribly good. We have no idea what it's called but we are entirely hooked. Also we have discovered a laundry room here, so after much head scratching and machine kicking, we managed to fathom the American instructions and now have fresh smelling clothing. A relief to all, you chaps especially!
