Having been in New Zealand for two days I have decided that this is where I want to live, no doubt about it.

It's already hard to imagine this country being topped in terms of aesthetic pleasure or the quality of life there is here. Its a place that seems keen to keep things nice, with a voter turn out of 80%, and a record low level of unemployment at just 3.7%. It was the first country in the world to give women the vote (in 1893, Britain giving full voting rights in 1928 (I'm quite sure on this, although check if you are interested)) and as a result of this head start the country is on its second female prime minister with women occupying top jobs across the board including Governor General, Chief Justice, CEO of the country's second largest company. It guarantees its indigenous people (Maoris) at least seven seats in Parliament, although they occupy more. Which is alot more than can be said for Australia, the country across the Tasman sea that is infamous in this area of politics. The city here is safe and clean and the people are friendly and helpful.

I apologise for the short length of this blog... I am running out of time on the internet. I will however right soon to let you all know what we are up to, which is alot! There is so much on and so much to do. xxxxxxx
