We went to a gated complex to have a look around - Ocean Club and were looked after by a very cheesy leasing agent. In the end we had seen 5 apartments all within this complex. It wasn't good as every part of every building seemed to smell of a retirement home. Very dated inside is being polite and the whole complex seemed really closed in. What a shame as the last apartment actually had a fantastic view of the ocean and pier.
We both decide that gated community living is not for us and tomorrow I will take all of them off the short list so we can focus on houses and small apartment buildings.
The leasing agent is trying to be a little pushy by saying the apartment will go quickly if we don't make up our minds. I give him one of my looks and point out that it is a risk that I am more than happy to take. It was funny......

We have a viewing booked for tomorrow evening in Venice Beach so decide to drive there tonight to see what the neighbourhood is like in the evening as its one of those you either love it or hate it places
