Seshami Street Boys!!! woohooo :D
The "Seshami Street Boys" is a shamisen duo composed of Pierre Ono and Yasutoyo Torami. They will present a Japanese street style performance using the traditional musical instrument using the shamisen (a three-stringed musical instrument). The Seshami Street Boys was formed during their college days at the Tsukuba University. The group composed of Pierre Ono and Torami Yasuto is known for their straightforward and comedic style. They have appeared in various events including street performance festivals such as the Daidougei World Cup and have become a staple of the Tokyo street scene. Repealing the ordinary, challenging its predecessors, and topping off records – the Seshami Street Boys is a must-see professional act can set the festive mood in any event. Last February 26, 2011 at 7:30pm in the Atrium, Shangri-La Plaza Mall, Edsa, Mandaluyong City, I attended one of the event for the 2011 Nihongo Festival and it was the Seshami Street Boys, it was my first time attending and watching a Japanese performing art. At first, I thought that it would be boring and not that good for I am not familiar with Japanese acts but I was greatly wrong for it turned out to be a fun and interesting performance.
Everybody who was there even the people who were just passing by lend their time to listen because it was really something that draws your attention to watch because of its festive mood and comedic acts. It really seems that everyone enjoyed it and even askedor one more act, it was so good and I think that it really features the Japanese culture; through the Nihongo Festival lots of people including me would be knowledgeable and interested in the Japanese culture. I'm happy to see such a good performance for the first time and would leave a great impression on me on how the Japanese people do live performances; the music got me and other people who were there excited because of its mix music, they know how to get people’s attention with the mixture the classic and modern music. Their comedic acts are so funny in a way that everyone could relate and laugh with them without any hesitation.
Seeing the Seshami Street Boys perform like that would want me to continue watching Japanese performance in the future, it will surely be fun and fascinating at the same time. They seem to be enjoying what they are doing so the crowd must’ve seen it and enjoyed the performance as well; it is nice to be that way having connection with the audience. Another good thing is that they are on time in starting the event unlike the so called Filipino time.
