Today we went from the charming town of Honfleur, names after the Norseman, Hon, when he found refuge ("fleur") in Normandy - why?   look it up!   Had a bountiful luncheon on the water.
Then we drove to Caen for an afternoon at the magnificent but sobering "Memorial" museum, which encompasses all of WWII, in fact war in general, with emphasis on the D-Day invasion.  Pretty fantastic and informative place.

Tonight we're in Bayeux, readying to tour the beaches tomorrow with Oliver, our guide.

Thanks for checking in and here are a few pics of today!

Another day in paradise, huh? Glad everything's going OK. Don't know if they make enough tissues for me to visit the Normandy memorial. Love "our" new summer home! Miss Frances has asked me to come "home", so I leave Sun. for 2 weeks to hold her hand. Please add her to your prayer list. Won't have my computer in LA, but will go by the lie-berry and use theirs so I can keep up with you. Love and hugs.

I'm not sure if it's possible, but those pictures make it seem even more lovely than your gorgeous home town of Ouray! Enjoy! And touch the ocean (channel?) for me! xxxx

How deLIGHTful to receive photos along your way! Pls be careful and don't get stuck in one of those "street scene" places. Home yestiddy from great and exhausting weekend. Play-by-play can wait until you2 return to native soil. Yesterday (8/23) was 1st day of school for Connor. Carys l-o-v-e-s her teacher. Someone fills my laundry basket whenever my back is turned. Belinda came home from rehab this a.m. Her brother & a buddy muscled her up the six steps to the front door. Hip replacement sore, of course, but will heal, with much work. We visited her four days last week. We hosted 14 at the New Yorker on Saturday for Lewis A.'s Bday. Reunion was a toot. Saw Cody's first football game of season. We are bone-tard. Think of us with your first glass of wine tomorrow! OTS&BIL
