So after 2 flights, 2 taxis and a 2 hr bus for me and 22 hours of 3 different buses travelling over the Andes for Ben, we hope to reunite in Valparaiso, Chile on Sunday evening.....will keep you posted if all goes to plan!!!!

So all did go to plan and we met up in Valapraiso. The hostel we stayed in was really nice, was actually a house so only 3 bedrooms so very homely and the owner was great at recommending what to do in the town but also for rest of north Chile. That night his fisherman mate brought round some fish for us to taste an we bought wine and chilled out with the other 2 couples and the owners.

The next day we explored Valparaiso, the beautiful funny day we arrived on was no longer as it was cold, grey and drizzling, reminds me of somewhere else close to my heart!!!. It a UNESCO site but we are still unsure as to why. Its nice to walk around and great colourful houses in the surrounding hills but not much else there. After one day walking around we felt we had done Valapraiso.

We took advice from the owner, Rene, and changed our plans and headed inland to the Elqui Valley before up to La serena. Will write about that in the next post!
