Where I stayed
Franconia Notch Park Campground
So we set out from Buffalo reasonably early and attempted to get to the I-90 which proved more difficult than we thought. After an... ahem... detour courtesy of Nic we got back on and swapped drivers. Nic then drove for the next 6 hours until a little town called Bennington Just inside Vermont (approximately 260 miles). At this point Abi took over and proceeded to drive through some amazing country side with some spectacular views. We even got to watch the sunset over the rolling hills covered by miles of forest. We eventually arrived in Franconia at about 9:30pm and started looking for somewhere to stay. The first place we tried was full so we carried on and in the middle of nowhere we found this 'forest campground' which operated on a first come first serve basis. We promptly set-up shop and had a yummy meal of burgers and Cesar salad. Since there were bears around we put all the food in the car and went to bed, having been in the car for 13 hours and all being very tired. Pretty sure I heard a bear ambling around our campsite later but whatev.
