Day trip to Kaieteur Falls with all the Canadian interns in Georgetown.  It is supposedly the worlds tallest 'single drop' waterfall in the world.  A quick google search will reveal the the tourism authority made up that statistic.  But nonetheless it is a very large and impressive waterfall - about 5 times the height of niagara - and it overlooks a beautiful valley deep in the untouched interior jungle.  A short flight from Georgetown.
