Gday everyone...this story is told by my riding buddy Sam, I have taken the easy way out and just included his story as he did a good job of capturing the details of this weird and scary night...I'll let Sammy get entertain you...

Todays title is the Stealth mission so I am going to cut right to it. Our time on the inter net to update the good old travel pod today ate into the daylight hours. There was no bringing back the sun, and dark is dark so we decided to have a late dinner in town and finally get under way in the search of a camp site well after dark. This is where things all started to get a bit crazy. The town we were in which had a definite drug scene going on (saw many syringes laying around) was much bigger than we thought. It was obvious that getting out of the city limits was not going to be as easy as we thought. The next problem was the only way out for us was to take the main highway. This is not the best idea when the sun is shinning let alone when it is pitch black, but what to do. So we just went for it. It must have looked funny seeing these two idiots riding their bikes down the main highway of Lithuania in the middle of the night. We realized that this was a little silly and decided to try pull into a truck stop and ask if we could pitch our tent out the back with the trucks. Our request was met with a very stern NO!!! (maybe piss off) by the very helpful attendant (not). So we climbed back on the bikes and continued the night mission. The good new was the Stars were out and putting on a twinkling display. Our problem was as we got out of town the land was very swampy so there was no camping possibilities. Finally though we found a dark road off to the side and decided to take it and see what we could find. As we made our way down this deserted road, a car followed us. The car sat behind us as we were ridding and then very slowly went past and continued down the deserted road. This gave both Ben and I a very bad feeling. It is hard to explain in writing but there was just something bad about the whole thing. So we watched the tail lights continue down the road a bit and decided that it would be better if we did no go any further incase they were waiting for us down the road. So into the forest we went in search of a place to set up the tent. Just for good measure (very glad we did now) we decided to set up a little bit further off the road than normal and really hide in amongst the trees, just incase this creepy car returned. Then as we were setting up the tent (with the head torches on)and discussing, and laughing about how cautious we were being, I looked up to see the same car had pulled over on the side of the road about 70-80 meters away from us. I quickly turned off my head torch and urged Ben to do the same so not to give up our position. The thoughts that filled our head at this point were plentiful. They covered the whole spectrum from "they are just kids having a smoke" to "Murderers". Either way both Ben and I were feeling very uneasy about the whole situation. So armed with our knifes we stood guard in the saftey of our forest hideout, and watched the car. Soon they turned off there lights which made it harder for us to see them but we could see a faint outline of the car when lights from the adjacent motor way would filter through. Basically we felt confident that we had the upper hand if they wanted to come looking for us because we could always see or here them coming. While we were standing guard with our knifes (shit it must have looked funny) we started to go through some possible scenarios, on what we would do if they came from this way, or that way etc. Our biggest worry was that if they were stupid enough to enter the forest in the middle of the night then they probably had some sort of weapon, maybe even a gun. We also discussed our reluctance in stabbing another human being if it came to that, and of course our reluctance to be stabbed. Basically, as it generally is, avoidance of conflict would be our best out come. So it was decided that we would pack up the tent and all our stuff and try and sneak out with out them seeing us. To do this we would have to do it in the dark and with out the head torches as any flash of light could give up our position. This was actually very easy in the darkness, as we over the last few months of camping nearly everyday we had it down pat. So we did it in turns, while one would pack the gear the other would keep an eye on the area of the car and watch and listen for anything. Just as we were nearing the complete pack up of the site the car roared to life, high beams blazing and came into the field with its headlights searching the forest. Both Ben and I quickly covered the reflectors on our travel bags and bikes and hid as best we could. Fortunately they did not have a perfect idea of where we were and their head lights just avoided our location. Then after a while they packed up and sped off. Both Ben and I then ran out to the road to make the red tail lights had vanished and then went back to the bikes (Andre and R2) finished loading them up, still under no torch light. Once we had everything ready we decided to get back onto the motor way as soon as possible. We did not want to head in the direction that our friends had driven so we continued down the doddgy road, which was full of huge pot holes. We still did not want to turn on our lights which made it tough to ride down the road and I went straight into a huge pot hole and smashed my back wheel. Thankfully it was still ok to ride on. Eventually though we made it to the motor way and continued on towards Riga the capital of Latvia. The time was now 1am and neither one of us was eager to find another camp spot in the forest for the night so we just decided to enjoy the ride under the stars, until we found a truck stop. It turned out to be a great ride as their was now no cars on the road and the stars were just brilliant. After 1 and half hours of riding, and constant laughter of what has just unfolded we finally found a truck stop. It was now 230am and we decide to just set up the tent, this took away any possibility of a knock back from a grumpy employee. We then set up the tent and fell asleep some time around 3pm What a funny day indeed.......... that is all for now.... I have a few other classic stories that need to be told but I will get to them tomorrow, stay tuned though as it involves some streaking....hmmmmmmm bye for now.. stay well..sammy

well...there you have it, quite a long entry but worth the read I think...was an intense night, but one that we can laugh about now...hope that all is well with everyone, until next time. Be well, safe and enjoy....peace, Ben
