On Thursday November 11th i went with a group of conservation volunteers to Phattalung.  in this province most of it has been flooded repeatedly for the rainy season, so last week we went downtown Krabi and Ao Nang to raise donations for food and medical supplies. we had donation boxes with writing in Thai and English asking for donations to help flood victims.  we raised over 10,000THB in one hour of work which is a lot of money down here. in Canadian dollars that is about 360.00 so for this area that is very generous. it was funny to notice that while we were collecting it was actually mostly the locals that were making donations and not the foreigners and tourists even though you would think they are the ones with more money if you see this area.

anyways so we left at 6 in the mornign because it was a four hour drive to the area, we started off by handing out rice, fish sauce, and tomato sauce and first ad kits at a community center, then we went to a buddhist temple to give them rice and brooms, in return they blessed us with a special bracelet and said prayers for us and our loved ones and dead family members.  next we went to a gypsy community and gave them food supplies. then they showed us about the native peoples that live in the jungles near them and then we got to plant rice in their rice paddies.
