We decided to do the Kings Canyon Rim Walk an amazing 6kms walk along the top of the canyon. It started with a steep ascent up steps to the top of the rim. It's described as one of the best walks in Australia and it didn’t disappoint with it’s huge domes and sheer cliff faces – amazing!

We also walked Kathleen Springs, a short 2.6km walk. The rain and water had come through here at such a pace that part of the path was destroyed and a lookout platform over a waterhole was trashed!

Drove on towards Uluru and Kata Tjuta, passed Mount Connor, a huge flat top mountain that you initially think is Uluru!! Apparently it is Australia’s most photographed red herring! Stopped off at Curtin Springs Station because it offers free camping! They have a pub there so we popped in for one, which turned into 2! We soon found out that they get there money from you even if you don’t camp – at least we got something back for our money, beer as well as a place to stay! Met a great couple Barry from Cork in Ireland and Katie from Sunshine Coast, QLD – chilled out and had some more beers! Hoping to catch up with them in Alice Springs for Triple J’s One Night Stand (a free concert being held in Alice Springs!)
