Well we arrived safely back at London Heathrow, where the madness began nine months ago so its time to round this malarkey off with a quick 'Best of'...
Best dinner of the trip: For Ben it was without doubt the hostel in Taganga Colombia where a Michelin star chefs cooks up filet mignon for 6 quid. For Bea it was our BBQs, complete with 2kg of meat in Tilcara, Argentina
Best beer -not the great est taste ever but Argentina's Quilmes did it for Ben, more the colours on the bottle than anything else. Toņa for Bea, best label ever!
Best view - From the top of Guanaco in Tierra Del Fuego National Park - you can see the end of the continent from up there. From the top of Pliege Tombado in El Chalten, Argentina - an incredible 360° over Park National los Glacieres
Best bus journey - Crossing the Altiplano from San Pedro de Atacama to Salta, incredible scenery, Same for Bea
Best sunset- for Ben it was from Sengiggi beach in Lombok and for Bea it was rom Colonial de Sacramento in Uruguay, the sky was mad
Best night out - Lucy's birthday Queenstown was raucous or Ben's birthday in Cartagena! I think they were the only two nights we went out in nine months. Too knackered most of the time.
Best campsite -For Ben Laguna Verde, Tierra Del Fuego national park, cold at night and the mossies were vicious but the setting on the chilean border was fantastic; Cerro Castillo in Chile for Bea - we had the place to ourselves.
Best beach -Ben: "I hate beaches, but Raglan in New Zealand was beautiful and had big waves too"; Gillis for Bea when I came face to face with a sea turtle! or Kuta Lombok was wild.
Best national park For Ben without doubt it was the Parque National Los Glacieres Argentina for scenery and atmosphere and incredible skies. Same for B
Most hysterical moment - Friends Erez and Orly capsizin their Kayak after two minutes on the river Mekong, kept me giggling all day; Mattie and Looey crashing their canoe after Looey asked Mattie to get her a brunch bar.
Best footy match - Uruguay, Nacional V Fluminese, great atmosphere, great game CHECK OUT VIDEO BELOW; Colocolo in Santiago de Chile playing Santos, mad fans and great after match ambiance.
Best place we visited - Got to be El Chalten, Argentina's trekking capital in Patagonia. When it rains it is miserable, but when the sun is out and the wind is blowin there is no better place to be
Best hostel - Onuku Farm, Akaroa, New Zealand set on acres of land by the Pacific ocean, great atmosphere and they run their own Dolphin swimming tours. Kinloch Lodge near Glenorchy, NZ for Bea
Worst hostel - Xuan Ba, north Vietnam, some government run place. The only time since I was 5 years old that I slept with the light on. Thanks to giant spiders, and ghosts.
Best day's trekking - First day of Kepler trek, in New Zealand Fjordland. Climbed Mount Luxmore in the evening. Spectacular. For B second day of the kepler. All day on the ridge, Stunning.
Worst trek - First day Queen Charlotte - 27km around the coast, it just never ended. Felt like turning back after ten minutes.
Best boat trip - Puerto Williams to Punta Arenas. Journey through fjords and pass glaciers, out of this world.
Best widlife experience - For Bea, dolphin swimming without a doubt; for Ben spying on spider monkeys in Corcovado (remind him of his family)
Best activity - For Ben the canoe trip on Wanganoui river; For Bea kayaking (ducky) donw the river in Pucon, Chile
Most annoying thing about travelling with our partner:
_ Ben: "Bea mumbling something in English and going mad when I don't understand what she just said."
_ Bea: "Ben is deaf."
Special thanks to my mum and dad for meeting us all the way in Patagonia> Yep thanks to Didier and Martine. The ONLY ones to fly from Europe to meet us! We had a great time in the windy village of El Chalten.
Massive thanks to the Escargots gang, "We still making mistakes guys" and "Shamooonn". Great to have so memories with you guys. We love you.
My turn to thanks my amazing partner of 7 years. Couldn't have done it without you mon amour. Spending 266 days 24hrs/7 together was the best. I will miss it. I love you, your Shoobeydoo
Why thanks schubbs!
What will I miss the most? Going to the bank machine and taking out huge wads of notes, blowing it all then going back two days later and doing exactly the same again.
What Bea will miss the most - Spending 24hours a day with me of course.
What we wont miss: Crap pillows, bed bugs, the heat, the runs.
