Sorry for the lack of updates. Over the last month we've slowly headed up the East Coast from Brisbane upto Cairns on the Oz Experience bus, and have been having an unbelievable time with some amazing people. We spent close to a week in Brisbane with Ben's friend Roxy, then headed up North to Noosa, which is a really chilled out surf town, where we spent 3 nights and met the people who we've been travelling with for the last 3 weeks.
We then went back down to Brisbane because it was the only place we could find to watch the rugby in a British pub, the next day we had an 8 hour drive to Hervey Bay (the stop off point to get to Fraser Island). Spent 3 days on Fraser with some Canadian, Icelandic and British people which was amazing, apart from the amount of sand which gets everywhere, adding a bit of crunch to everything we ate. Luckily we had a chef in our van, who managed to cook us up some gourmet style food on both nights.
After Fraser, 11 of us managed to get the same bus to a cattle ranch in the outback somewhere, where some bogans showed us how to catch goats, crack whips and throw boomerangs. Quite a random place, we all had a go at clay pigeon shooting, where i got 5 out of 5 along with my mate Dan, so we had a terminator style shoot-off in which he won! I couldn't hack the pressure.
We then headed up to Airlie Beach, with everyone but Ben and i, and our 2 cockney mates Adam and Dan forgot to book accomodation on GOOD FRIDAY. Ended up forking out for a plush apartment with a balcony, queen size bed and sea view for the night. The next two days we spent sailing on the Whitsunday Island's and again met some really nice people, especially 2 dutch lads.
We then went up to Magnetic Island, where we initially planned to spend 2 nights, but ended up staying 6, as it was virtually paradise. Spent 3 days on a deserted beach playing beach golf and drinking beers, at one point about 25 people who we'd met on the way up were all here at one time.
We're now in Cairns, and have been here for the last 5 nights playing pub golf and went to the Great Barrier Reef and snorkeled where the visibility was about 10 meters!! Had an incident with a pan of boiling oil which i spilt on my foot, was in agony for 2 hours, but had some injections to numb the pain, will try to upload the pic of my lovely foot.
Had an unbelievable time and dont want to leave, but our group is getting smaller and smaller as people are heading home and to different countries everyday. Our 2 best mates from London left this morning, but i'm meeting them in Thailand in a few weeks, so alls good.
Anyway hope everythings good back home, missing everyone, love ads and benx
