We left Robe bright and early the following morning on the next leg of our trip. After crossing the state border into Victoria we stopped at Portland for lunch. We took a short detour to Portland Bay lighthouse where we had a surprise encounter with a kangaroo hopping across the road in front of us.

After Portland we arrived in Port Fairy for the night. It was still light so we took the walk around Griffiths Island to yet another lighthouse. We were joined on our walk by a swamp wallaby keeping a close eye on us.
