It was so nice to wake up with the birds singing, that was apart from one bird whose repetitive tweet started low and then increased until it was like a drill boring into our skull … it was like water torture. Still, for the first time in weeks we were in the same place for more than one night and it felt good being able to relax.

It was a much cooler morning with the trees providing plenty of shade and the clouds smothering the sun for a few hours.  There were only half a dozen drops of rain before the humidity seemed to increase yet again, it felt as though the weather was teasing us.

We tried to eat breakfast while avoiding the ants and had a nice dip in pool, well as nice as it could be when full of children.  Chris left Annabelle reading her book by the pool.  She was particularly enjoying her book on Captain Cooks adventures and had so regularly recanted the facts of his expedition that Chris was now desperate to read the book himself.

She had just managed to find a nice shady spot when a group of 5 kids, seemingly in the same family, came along to spoil her fun.  When she came back for lunch she was adamant we will never have kids like that – not with our spear in the thigh and chilli under the eye tricks anyway!

We had our lunch and made our salads for dinner, but in the process and we had a water leak in the van which annoyed Chris as he could not find out where it was leaking from.  We headed over to the area that was fenced off … only to find 4 rather large and aggressive fresh water crocodiles.

After watching them chastise each other and generally be menacing we headed back to the van for dinner and to prepare for our evening entertainment.  The van park, every Saturday runs a free deckchair cinema so we took our outdoor chairs with us and settled down under the stars to watch what we thought was a kids film due to there being so many of the little rats around.

To be honest we would have watched anything as it was nice to be outside in a breeze, but it was an extra bonus when the kids did not show up and the owner decided to watch the new Robin Hood film instead, brilliant.  After the film we decided to really go crazy, it was a Saturday night after all … so we cooked a jacket potato with beans and cheese.

Bellethorpe = Rock and Roll!
