Yesterday's sail was the nicer of the two as it was sunny and bright but with an icy wind blowing off the snow covered Sierra Nevada Mountains. It's such a strange thing for us to sail in such conditions watching the snow covered mountain go by, it was really beautiful and something we would never expect to see in Australia. The other amazing thing was the number of dolphins that came to play with us, there were hundreds in the water and they constantly came back and forth to the boat, jumping out of the water, rolling over and having a look at us, probably thinking "Stupid dumb animals why are they out there in all that cold air". It all felt like something out of a wildlife documentary and fortunately made for smooth sailing for the rest of our journey with off shore winds.... We also sailed along with another aussie cat called White Hawk whose owners Paul and Lyn (Brits who have seen the light and become Aussies) took some photos of us sailing along, it was nice to have company for a change.
The good thing about being back in Gibraltar is the English food and supermarket. We can now stock up on our favourite type of foods that we have missing for the last few months...Gravy, Ginger Beer, English Cadbury's (not quite as good as the Aussie version), curries, good sausages and meat pies....
The air force has also been putting on some entertainment for us as we watch there jets zooming around the rock at fantastic speeds and the loudest noise. You cant help but stop and stare everytime they go past and hope they are just having fun and practising!
