Our flight from Seattle to Houston, which was supposed to depart at 11:45pm, was delayed until 1:15am. The girls handled this surprising well, playing cards and eventually crashing on the floor, and seemed genuinely accepting of this delay - a great spirit to have.

The delays added up when we finally did land at 7:30am (houston time, +2hrs), 4 hours later after take-off. This gave us less than an hour to go check in for our next flight. Of course, with God on our side, not even Texas can be against us. As we began our descent our pilot, Zane - who Suzi and I had the pleasure of meeting earlier that night in the line-up for starbucks - announced to the plane that our team was leaving to do Humanitarian Aid and gave us some public thanks, as well as informed us that we would not only be on the same plane to belize, but we would be leaving from the same gate. All we had to do was step off, wait, and get back on - a wonderful blessing so early in the morning. Zane was truly impressed with the girls and personally said goodbye to each of us as we got off the plane - God is so cool.

A quick bite to eat and one bathroom break, and we were back on the plane. Which is okay, because most of the girls found texas strange. Before we knew it, we were off again, finally on the plane that would take us to Belize.
